Well, in all the excitement, I forgot to get a pic of the limo roll… Mrs. Dragon and I arrived fashionably late and proceeded to the NARAS table to ask where the members were hanging. The first person we met was Thomas of State of Man. Needless to say, I had to take the pic while Mrs. J got all the glory. Visit them at www.stateofmanmusic.com .
Thomas of State of Man and the wife…

Some unknown band was playing…well it might have been a band at one time. The guitar player soloed over trance beats while a video jockey on the 2nd floor mixed video footage of astronauts. Interesting.

Then we met the beat gods; www.thebeatgods.com . The video was shot outside and I guess the camera setting wasn’t right (we kept going in and out to escape the loud music)… their picture didn’t turn out, but the video is posted above…

Duke Machado is the owner of an interesting PR shop for bands; hitmusiclink.com .
Here he is looking like the proud Texan he is…

Then we saw the guyz of LoveRush and hung out with them a bit. Our daughters sent them a homemade music video using their song “Do What You Want To” a few months ago. My wife and I met them at the Grammy Night party in the Spring. They are genuinely nice folks and I hope they get a record deal from this showcase. Notice that I’m still taking all the pictures, because my camera person is doing the meet-and-greet and reminding everyone of her heavy metal lead singing days…

Kosha is back with SuperKala and Tytewurk.net and the wife finally took a picture!
Kosha and Trey are partners with the new business Soundloadmusic.com; a way for bands to make online music sales count through nielson soundscan. What a neat concept!

So after 2 hours of multicultural trance music, Mrs. J and I decided to ditch the party and find some food. We found a little Spanish Grill called Frijoles and had a nice cuban sandwich and coffee. Then it was back to the cab for a $15 ride back to our hotel.

I’ll post some video next…

Peace-

J
