MUSIC INDUSTRY BLOG HALL OF FAME:
1. Hypebot’s 100 Free & Affordable High and Low Tech Music Promotion Tips. Very savvy, usable tips!
2. Gerd Leonhard’s The End of Control. A good read; -I don’t always agree, but it’s thought-provoking.
3. Andrew Dubber’s The 20 things you must know about Music Online.
4. Coolfer’s Digging through the NYT’s Archive. Over 20 years of music industry history at your fingertips.
5. Recordbetteraudio.com’s Recording Seminars. With video tips and a growing library of topics, this site is fast becoming the go-to place for studio hounds.
6. BigBlueLounge’s list of sources for sound samples on the Internet. Since they move things around frequently, you may want to try looking under the Instruments section. There should be a sticky.
7. Northern Sounds’ incredible tutorials on orchestration. First, the classic Rimski-Korsakov text with comments by Prof. Alan Belkin of the University of Montreal. Then a great little additional text by Prof. Belkin.
